THE FACTS WITHOUT EMOTION
RAINBOW CHICKENS, EARLYBIRD CHICKENS AND ALL COMMERCIALLY PROCESSED CHICKENS ARE HARAAM. THE FACTS ON WHICH THIS RULING OF THE SHARIAH ARE BASED ARE AS FOLLOWS:
(1) In the broiler-chicken industry cruelty and brutality begin on the very first day the chickens are hatched. Millions of male chicks are trashed and ground up alive and converted into feed for the chickens.
(2) Diseased chickens with rotting livers, etc. (see overleaf) cause serious human diseases such as cancer, etc. (see overleaf).
(3) The process of upside down shackling is horrific, painful and torturous. Legs are broken, bones are broken and wings are torn. Many semi-dead chickens are shackled and die either in the shackling process or in the electrocution process.
(4) The chickens are cruelly shocked in electrified water into which their entire heads are immersed. They are immobilized while they remain conscious and suffer horribly.
(5) Many chickens die as a direct consequence of the brutal electric shocking process. Such chickens too get slaughtered.
(6) The line speed of the conveyor belt reaches 180 birds per minute.
(7) The birds, dead and alive, are slaughtered while they are in swift motion on the line, hanging upside down with the Qiblah requisite totally abandoned just as every other aspect of the humane Islamic Thabah system is totally abandoned.
(8) Numerous chickens are slaughtered partially. All four neck vessels are not severed due to this horrendous killing process.
(9) Innumerable chickens while still alive are plunged into the scalding water with their impurities still enclosed within their carcasses. Mufti Afzal
H. Elias, SANHA’s inspector and all the other Sanha inspectors observed all these brutalities with their own eyes. But Mufti Elias described the plunging of the chickens, ‘still alive’ into the scalding water as ‘horrific’, brutal’, horrendous, disgusting’, etc.
(10) Many slaughterers have testified under oath that they do NOT recite Tasmiyah as this is impossible since each slaughterer has to kill almost 19,000 chickens daily in an 8 hour shift. Some recite for short periods. But there is consensus of the slaughterers that Tasmiyah is neglected and abandoned on a mass scale. We have the affidavits to substantiate this claim.
(11) At Sanha-certified plants, chickens were taken off the line after having been electrocuted and found to be dead – stone dead. But such chickens proceed for slaughtering. We have the evidence. When the time necessitates, it will be made public, Insha’Allah.
(12) There is a 100% lack of supervision from the moment the chickens leave the point of slaughter. After the killing, there is absolutely no Muslim supervision during the cutting-up, packing, storing and transport processes. Everything is under non-Muslim control and supervision.
(13) The implied conditions of employment for the Muslim slaughterers are: No daily Salaat, no Jumuah Salaat and no Eid Salaat. Even during Ramadhaan, Maghrib Salaat is not allowed. A slaughterer was dismissed immediately after Ramadhaan because he took off for Eid Salaat. This happened with Sanha’s condonation this very past Eidul Fitr.
Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) commanded us: “Seek a fatwa from your heart.” If Muslims search their heart and their conscience with a genuine desire to fathom the truth, their hearts will spontaneously let out the clamour that this chicken-meat which is the product of so much cruelty, disease, abandonment of every requirement of the Shariah and inhumanity is HARAAM CARRION. The fatwas of a thousand head muftis and shaikhul hadith cannot transform this HARAAM CARRION in to halaal tayyib food which the Qur’aan says is the foundation of righteous deeds and the generator of TAQWA. May Allah Ta’ala open the blinded vision and tenderize the fossilized hearts of Muslims who consume this HARAAM CARRION – the product of horrific brutality and haraam.
